In both world wars and during peacetime the brigade, known by many different designations, served with the 56th (London) Infantry Division. ==Formation== The 1st London Brigade was raised in 1908, upon the creation of the Territorial Force (TF) and was part of the 1st London Division, one of fourteen divisions of the peacetime TF. The Territorial Force was created under the Haldane Reforms by the amalgamation of the Volunteer Force and the Yeomanry. The brigade was composed of four Volunteer battalions of the Royal Fusiliers, which later became the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Territorial battalions of the London Regiment.
